Giving Some Love and a Push

 Abigail came back with Jingle to prepare for the State Junior Show.  

Boaz and Zella gave her some love and peeled her dead hair so she would feel better.  Then we took her to a pedicure.  

And here is Jingle.  4 months old in these pictures.  She is a December baby.  She is not too sure she is happy with the halter just yet.

Van Zandt County Fair Open Show

 It was a cool day in Canton for the Van Zandt County Fair.  Before the show everyone had a nap. Happy results from the nap.

 

 

There were 128 entries in the Open Show.  Zella took first place out of 4 with Coco.  What a cool looking heifer.

Zella was first place with Cookies with Sprinkles.  They have fun together.

The Boaz man took first place out of 4 with Cranberry. I've always said she is super sound and correct.  The judge agreed.  Cranberry was crowned Grand Champion Hereford female.  Congratulations Boaz and Cranberry!

We even got Elrod out of the pasture.  He was not too thrilled, but pulled out Champion Hereford Bull. He is owned with Metch Polled Herefords.

So after the show Zella and I peeled Cookie - Wow she looked great. 

But the picture that tells it all is Elrod approximately 2 hours after the show.  He is back in his pasture with his harem.

Rockwall Youth Fair

 The 2021 Rockwall Youth Fair was held at the County Courthouse Grounds this year.  Pretty cool.  Lots of room. . . and people.

Zella and Coco were first in class.

Boaz and Cranberry were first in class.  Sorry I failed to get a picture.

Zella and Cookie with Sprinkles was first in class in Reserve British Division. Thanks for your help Whitley and Emily.

 

 

And the Winner Is

 We went to the Metch Memorial Scholarship Show in mid February.  We were getting PB out as well as Coco.  Kiddos did great.  Coco were named Reserve Champion Hereford Female.  PB was third in Class.

Gettin Things Right

 Zella and Coco are coming along.  They make a great pair.  I can see alot of similarities with Coco and her mom Brownie.

 Elrod was so excited

to know he was officially a father.  I mean doesn't he look excited?  Well even if he doesn't look excited, he is looking GOOD!

Abigail and Jingle are excited too.

New Arrival

 The Cookie Monster delivered her first on January 22.  She's a beautiful heifer.  Sire is Elrod.  Weight on heifer 55 lbs.  WOW  I'm not sure Cookie is impressed but she has a beautiful udder and is taking great care of . . . Sprinkles.  Sprinkles in Polled.  Cute Cute.  Even Boaz thinks so.  Congratulations to Zella.

Abigail Says Hello

 

Upon returning home Elrod went on a visit to Metch Polled Herefords to take care of some business. While there Abigail wanted to say hello.  Doesn't Jingle look good!

Another Spa Day

 This time Zella, Karter, and Andee were all involved.  Elrod thought he was in heaven.

Picture Time - What a Look!

 We had picture time.  Elrod showed off for it.  Just look at that hip and back leg - wow.  If he stamps his progeny with that, they should have an awesome look!

Competition

Boaz wanted Aunt Barbara to know she was with us in spirit so he made sure to wear his Metch Scholarship Show Champion Buckle.
 

It was stiff competition in class as expected.  We didn't win the class but we got several looks and great comments from cattlemen.  The bull that won the class ended up being Champion Polled Hereford Bull.  Several days later he was crowned supreme champion bull over all breeds.

As it turned out, we ended up only taking Elrod and Lance's Polled heifer.  Zella made good use of her time and gave Elrod the royal treatment. He had spa days and reading time.

 Zella was all excited about the snow.  It snowed several days in advance of our arrival, Thank the Lord.  But the back yard where we stayed was in full snow.  This was the next morning.
