The Fall Line Up for W5 Herefords

As summer wears on, decisions on the farm about what to exhibit at the up coming East Texas State Fair and the State Fair of Louisiana have to be made.  Showcasing genetics is a vital part of customer acceptance.  With a limited number of cattle, we try to produce quality cattle that:

• 1. we find desirable as functional, productive cattle
• 2. will work for our customers, both bull buyers and female buyers
• 3. that can represent us and the breed at state and national exhibitions.

We are excited to have individuals that will continue that effort this year.  We will start the line up with -S W5 Gran Torino 4249 Y14, the 2012 Reserve State Champion Polled Hereford Bull.  We continue to be excited about Y14.  He is super think, level hipped with natural muscle that is wrapped in a very attractive package.  After a battle with another bull and some buzzards this summer, we weren't sure if he was going to be presentable.  He has exceeded our expectations and is back on track.  His first calves should begin to hit the ground very soon.  We have great expectations for Y14 to continue the genetic improvement to our herd that we have experienced through some of our past herd sires. 

Following him will be a super cool young female W5 Ms 457 JT by W5 Overtime 413J.   She is a line bred October heifer.  She has a tremendous hip with muscle that is very expressive down through the lower 1/3.  She is clean front ended with a super top and deep as the day is long.  She probably won't be the tallest in the class, but she will be a strong contender for the most complete. She will be a tremendous cow. She is offered for sale.

Next we have W5 Ms 4601G, by W5 Overtime 403J.  She is November female that continues to get better each day.  She is a well made growthy female with just enough white on her to be a real looker.  She has nice angles and will complement our herd as a producing female.  She too is offered for sale.

And then we have W5 Incentive 466D, by W5 Overtime 400J and out of TRM 2E Chloe P606 4249 ET.   He is a maternal sib to Y14.  He is a fantastic addition to the party.  He is long and deep. He is short marked with that deep cherry color.  He is polled.  You need to see him in person.
