Boaz returned to the Open Hereford Show and Zella took Brownie and Cookie. Boaz stood third in class behind two National Champions. He got to make the last walk. The judge studied for several minutes before making the final placings. You know to me it seemed like much longer than it probably really was. Even so, the B man did a super job showing and we were very excited for him!
Zella took Brownie and Cookie. They stood National Cow-calf pair in the Horned Show. Of course we were all excited about that. It was so cool!
Following Ft. Worth we began to prepare for the Rockwall Youth Fair. In preparation the kids, competed in the Head's Up& Stick 'Em Show hosted by the Rockwall County 4-H Beef Club. Zella and Boaz won all of their classes and Boaz stood Reserve Champion Supreme Steer with Comet.
Comet weighed in at 1215.
Three weeks later, the kids competed in the Don Metch Memorial Scholarship Show. Another outstanding day. Boaz and Zella won their heifer classes - Cookie's first time out by herself, and Abigail was Reserve Hereford (combined show)
Boaz then was Supreme Champion Steer with Comet. How Awesome! Hopefully picks coming soon.
